The spine can pose a variety of problems: from herniated discs, spinal canal stenosis (= narrowing), tumors, misalignments, wear and tear and much more... in most cases these pathological changes are associated with massive complaints, pain or even paralysis and loss of strength.

After a detailed initial consultation and a precise clinical examination, an individually tailored treatment concept will be prepared for you. I will discuss the radiological imaging with you in detail so that you can gain an insight into the existing problem.

There are clear international guidelines on how to treat existing symptoms caused by diseases of the spine.

A distinction is made between a pure pain syndrome or already neurological failures. If this is the case, action must be taken quickly and the problem must be remedied by means of an operation.

In the case of a pure pain syndrome, clarification with MR and X-ray and subsequent conservative therapy are recommended. This includes physical therapy, pain therapy, infiltrations, punctures or various minimally invasive procedures, which I carry out as an inpatient at the MZ Bad Vigaun. Infiltrations can also be carried out on an outpatient basis if necessary.

If your quality of life is not regained with conservative therapy, surgery should be performed. As a rule, the surgical therapy leads to a significant reduction in pain and an improvement in the quality of life in everyday life!

In the case of paralysis, we have an acute situation where we should react immediately.
If there is weakness in the arm or leg area or if the ability to walk is impaired, immediate clarification with X-rays and MRI and usually an operation is necessary. The earlier the operation is performed, the greater the chances of improvement or even complete remission of the weakness, of numbness or paralysis.

Thanks to the cooperation within the framework of the back pain center, I can offer short-term appointments in the surgery for the initial examination and subsequently also the radiological clarification and the initiation of targeted therapy at very short notice. The surgical therapy is individually tailored - from minimally invasive to deformity correction with osteotomy - in the Medical Center Bad Vigaun.

Inpatient conservative treatment with pain therapy, infiltration and punctures as well as physiotherapy also takes place in Bad Vigaun.

Additional insurance is not absolutely necessary for inpatient admission to the MZ Bad Vigaun; a cost estimate will be sent to you in advance.
